circa 1830, with fine etched twist damascus 9in. swamped barrel, small dove-tailed fore-sight, adjustable standing notch rear-sight, border engraved breech-block with moulded and fenced snail, Liege proofs, engraved top-tang, signed borderline and partially scroll engraved bar-action lock with dipped tail, engraved and moulded hammer (spur competently repaired), walnut half-stock (cracked through and repaired behind lock in antiquity), smooth fluted grip, engraved butt-cap swing to the side to reveal an aperture for caps, engraved silver fore-end tip, spurred trigger-guard bow, plain trigger and no provision for ramrod
